Akima Intra-Data (AID) is seeking a Maintenance Plumber to work in Saint Louis, Missouri.
The Plumber is a full-time, on-site role responsible for general plumbing tasks, including maintenance, repair, and upgrades of facilities and structures.
Responsibilities
Perform plumbing functions such as installation, maintenance, and repair of pipes, fittings, and fixtures in heating, water, and drainage systems in accordance with plumbing codes. Cut openings in walls, floors, or ceilings for pipe installation. Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes made of various materials using power and hand tools. Install and repair sinks, toilets, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposals, faucets, and burst pipes. Clear clogged drains. Study building plans and drawings to determine work sequence and necessary tools. Inspect structures to avoid obstructions and prevent structural weakening during installation. Cut and thread pipes, bend pipes, and join pipes using threaded joints, flanges, fittings, solder, pro press, or plastic welds. Fill pipe systems with water or air and check for leaks using pressure gauges. Maintain and repair plumbing fixtures, including replacing washers in leaky faucets. Use pipe locators to identify and mark sewer and natural gas systems to prevent damage. Report accidents, injuries, and hazardous situations promptly. Assist other trades and work from blueprints, drawings, models, or instructions. Follow safety procedures and use protective equipment. Inspect and maintain fire suppression systems and backflow preventers. Ensure good housekeeping practices. Operate company vehicles and equipment. Qualifications
Must be a US Citizen. High school diploma or GED required. Successful background check, including criminal and credit, and ability to obtain a government clearance. Pass pre-employment drug test. Possess or be able to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information. At least 5 years of experience as a Journeyman plumber. Desired Qualifications
Top-Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information. Trade or technical school training preferred. Certified in Backflow Prevention Assembly Testing, Repair, and Maintenance. Work Conditions
Normal shift from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with possible overtime and schedule changes. On-call for emergencies and after-hours work.
