Advanced Programs - Program Manager 3
Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Program Manager 3 for our Advanced Programs Business Unit. This role will be based in Huntsville, AL or Roy, UT and will support the next‑generation deterrent systems program.
Base pay range: $161,500.00 – $167,700.00 per year.
Relocation assistance may be available. Requires a U.S. Government DoD Secret clearance upon application, current within scope, and the ability to obtain TS/SCI approval/access. Travel: 25% of the time. The standard work schedule is a 9/80 (nine‑hour days Monday–Thursday, every other Friday off).
Responsibilities
Lead an advanced programs team of engineers, architects, business development, supply chain, and other functions focused on capability gap assessment, conceptual design, and technology maturation for the next‑generation system.
Create and implement a growth strategy for the team and the business.
Identify, allocate, track, and complete project objectives, demonstrating leadership throughout.
Support future Advanced Programs and Division team engagement, technical staff performance, goal evaluation, and recruiting/hiring efforts.
Demonstrate commitment to ethics, integrity, and innovation while challenging traditional approaches.
Operate in an advanced design environment and collaborate across Defense Sector Divisions and other sectors to accomplish Northrop Grumman goals.
Work closely with Advanced Programs project leads and core organization leads to define, grow, and execute the organization’s people and business.
Conceptualize, mature, and capture new business for Division growth and transition innovative solutions, technologies, and advanced concepts for U.S. strategic deterrence to programs of record for product development and fielding.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of related experience, Master’s with 6 years, or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Experience managing people preferred.
5 years with DoD weapon system conceptual and preliminary design.
5 years with large weapon design (vehicle, command and control, ground systems, support systems).
1 + year with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles and application or as a Cost Account Manager (CAM).
Experience with Large Captures (>$3 B).
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret clearance and the ability to obtain/maintain TS/SCI.
Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications
Bachelor’s of Science in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).
DoD Project or program manager experience with a dollar value of $20 M or greater.
Experience with existing strategic deterrent capabilities and systems.
Experience with NCTA Management and Strategy.
Experience managing multi‑disciplinary teams and teams of teams.
Experience with detailed design, engineering, and manufacturing development.
Excellent technical writing skills.
