Position Summary The Grain Location Manager directly manages the work and interaction of groups within a specified location. The role oversees all daily functions within a location, focusing on safety, compliance and customer service. Responsibilities include managing customer relationships, budgeting, profit and loss stewardship, and staff supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Direct employees in all aspects of operations, including unloading, loading, and sales of grain commodities. Conduct performance reviews, mentor, and coach the team through continuous improvement efforts.
Coach and motivate team members to meet performance standards through coaching, feedback, goal setting, and effective communication.
Provide leadership in managing team performance, including setting measurable goals, tracking metrics, and holding employees accountable.
Build relationships and establish trust with new and current customers. Communicate and promote grain marketing products, services, and programs that meet customer needs.
Work in conjunction with grain merchandisers to plan and direct grain sales programs. Coordinate distribution, maintain quality, and ensure sales in accordance with Agtegra policies.
Maintain a profitable location through staffing level management, expense control, revenue maximization, and risk management. Create an annual business plan to forecast the upcoming year’s balance sheet.
Adhere to all safety regulations, requirements, policies, and procedures, including OSHA regulations and DOT regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and two (2) years related experience, or a combination of education and experience.
Experience with grain elevators and facility maintenance.
Valid driver’s license.
Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
English proficiency.
Must be 18 years or older.
Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA, EPA, and related policies.
Knowledge of management and supervisory principles and practices.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and internet.
Ability to think quickly, maintain self-control, and adapt to stressful situations.
Preferred Qualifications
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
Physical Demands Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, talk, and hear. Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment Exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions. Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and hazardous chemicals. Noise level is usually loud. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
