Assistant Project Manager
to support the delivery of major TxDOT infrastructure projects. This is a prime opportunity for an ambitious construction professional to work on high-profile projects while gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of project management.
Position Overview The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with the Project Manager and field leadership to coordinate scheduling, cost control, subcontractor management, and client communications. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in heavy civil construction who is looking to advance toward a Project Manager position.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in preparing and maintaining project schedules and budgets.
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
Help review and interpret plans, specifications, and contracts.
Prepare RFIs, submittals, change orders, and pay applications.
Track project costs, productivity, and progress.
Support field teams to ensure safety, quality, and compliance.
Maintain strong relationships with owners, engineers, and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
3–5+ years in heavy civil construction, preferably with TxDOT project exposure.
Familiarity with Primavera P6, HCSS HeavyJob, and Microsoft Office.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver’s license with clean MVR.
