Troubleshoots, repairs and services aircraft avionics and electrical systems. Conducts diagnosis of malfunctions. Performs maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly or adjustment of various aircraft systems and equipment in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations. Maintains FAA required records, manuals and inspection forms. Independently troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions on all aircraft systems and components. Performs organizational and expert level maintenance, including inspection, operational testing, repair, modification and troubleshooting on all assigned aircraft, components and equipment. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and provide technical guidance to other employees as needed. Qualifications / Licensing And Certifications
U.S. Citizenship is required High School Degree or GED required Valid State Driver’s License required Valid U.S. Passport – ability to obtain Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English Knowledge in use of technical publications Ability to work in confined spaces Willingness to work shifts, travel as part of an installation team and support CONUS and OCONUS deployments as required Ability to interface effectively with Lead Avionics Technician and System Engineers Well developed avionics and instrumentation troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Hold or be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate – preferred Requirements
Minimum 10 years of avionics / instrumentation experience Minimum 5 years experience on aircraft currently assigned to Experience should include F-15, F/A-18, King Air B200, Gulfstream GIII, T-34, and TG-14 Ability to travel up to 25% Clearance: must maintain a US Secret Security Clearance Valid US Passport – must be able to obtain if none current Physical Demands
This maintenance classification activity is usually performed in a flight line-like environment with climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching and walking. May require lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires near and far vision, depth perception. Work Environment
Environment may vary from minimal discomfort to exposure to inclement weather, high noise, fumes, airborne particles and electrical hazards. May require work in areas with safety hazards. Equal Opportunity
