Role This position is responsible for verifying and keeping records of incoming materials, performing product inspection of a broad range of parts with precision tolerances using all types of measuring tools and equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Read and interpret specifications and engineering drawings to understand requirements.
Read, understand and inspect supplier certifications and material test reports to determine conformance to requirements.
Work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
Review and complete appropriate documentation, which is critical.
Perform inspection on aerospace products as described in written work instructions.
Utilize standard inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, dial indicators, plug gauges, etc.
Utilize computer technology systems such as QMS software (TipQA) to complete and store applicable inspection records and documentation.
Maintain a neat and clean work environment in collaboration with team members.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
Experience Must have a minimum of 2 years inspection experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Certified Mechanical Inspector is a plus but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities
Ability to read and write in English at the high school level.
Ability to interpret specifications, engineering drawings, work instructions, and procedure manuals.
Write routine inspection reports.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Computer skills: Microsoft Office, Outlook, SharePoint are a plus.
Eyesight correctable to 20/20; ability to pass a color blindness test.
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.
Physical Demands
Regularly required to sit, use hands, talk, hear; frequently stand, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
