Maintenance Project Manager II / District Five / District Maintenance This position manages the rest area and weigh station asset management program and prepares supplemental agreements and contracts for maintenance activities. Woodland Boulevard DeLand, FL 32720 Your Specific Responsibilities: Perform advanced work on the development, oversight, management, and administration of multiple contracts. Review, monitor, and coordinate the preparation, scheduling, and execution of work order driven, asset maintenance, and other performance-based contracts, requiring in-depth knowledge of contract and budget procedures. Administer all contract requirements, including Asset Maintenance Monitoring Plan, Maintenance Rating Program (MRP) payments, retainage, and penalties. Ensure timely encumbrance and expenditure of funds within the fiscal year. Coordinate between various offices to develop and implement the Maintenance Contract Program. Monitor projects to ensure compliance with contract documents and policies. Review contractor proposals and advise Technical Review Committees as assigned. Process invoices, resolve non-compliance issues, and document correspondence. Review and approve lane closure requests. Advise higher management on administrative issues. Report on contract status and recommend improvements. Process invoices/warrants per Section 215.422. F.S. Attend project meetings, manage projects for performance and compliance, and facilitate work document issuance. Review inspection reports, verify and process pay estimates, develop contract modifications, and review claims. Coordinate FHWA approvals and inspections. Recommend project acceptance and evaluate contractor performance. Manage project close-outs. Review Work Program Design and Construction Projects within Asset Maintenance Contract limits. Act as liaison between Asset Contractor and Project Managers. Manage public relations and address customer concerns related to projects. Maintain contact with officials and the public. Provide timely responses and promote respectful interactions. Ensure policy compliance. Offer engineering support and technical assistance within project limits. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of: Engineering concepts and terminology Construction plans and contract administration Roadway construction and maintenance procedures Microsoft Office software Skills in: Using engineering tools and instruments Reviewing and negotiating contracts Claims and time extensions Processing payments through computer applications Ability to: Monitor and inspect engineering projects Evaluate and analyze data Prepare reports Communicate effectively orally and in writing Plan, organize, and coordinate work Maintain effective relationships with others Other Job-Related Requirements: Must respond to emergencies due to job nature Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent and two years of infrastructure design, construction, or maintenance experience OR an Associate’s Degree.
