The Downtown Growers’ Market (DGM), a program of the DowntownABQ Mainstreet and Arts & Cultural District, is seeking a Market Manager. This person is responsible for overseeing Market operations during the season, preseason and postseason. This role will manage market staff and will work in close collaboration with the Finance Manager and Assistant Market Manager.
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
Year-Round: Manage market staff, communicate with vendors and customers via phone and email, serve as the public facing spokesperson. Pre-Season (January – March): Prepare the market, vendors and staff for the coming season. Market Operations on Saturday: set up, tear down, manage vendors and staff, enforce rules of the market, assist with food assistance program. Post Season (November – December): Oversee gathering and reporting data, manage season extension and prepare for coming season. Other Information/Requirements:
Qualifications:
Experience in project management/event/community planning. Able to work with people of all backgrounds, ethnicities and income levels. Experienced in conflict resolution. Experience making quick decisions and problem solving under pressure. Requirements:
Physical Requirements: Must be able to be outside, stand on feet, walk around and lift up to 50 pounds regularly for a 7 hour shift. Access to reliable transportation in a vehicle that can regularly transport market supplies.
