Materials & Planning Manager

– Sabert Corporation Overview and Basic Function: Provide hands-on leadership to a team of employees to accurately maintain a 24/7, high volume shipping/receiving function and handle primary planning responsibility for production operations. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Inventory Control/Management: Responsible for the inventory control of all raw materials in SAP.

Work order consumption of all materials according to BOM.

Communicate and train across all shifts to maintain the inventory control of all raw materials.

Month End inventory responsibility.

Shipping and Receiving: Set up incoming resin truck delivery schedules; responsible for receiving of all rail car deliveries; responsible for the organization and raw material levels; maintain a clean warehouse area and be fully compliant with all production safety policies and procedures.

Planning and Scheduling: Oversight of daily production scheduling.

Materials Movement: Manage the flow of raw materials through the receiving department until consumed on the production floor; responsible for SU management of all raw materials in inventory; review material blends in the FACS system; create new blend sheets for line changeovers (review and update reference folder) if needed for color and material changes.

Team Leadership: Organize and optimize the direct team of Material Handlers and Materials Administrators; fully accountable for safety of employees; conduct safety meetings, job safety audits, and reinforce safety program as needed; provide coaching, mentorship, and training opportunities; manage employee timekeeping including PTO Requests and timesheet maintenance, and coverage for absences of hourly staff.

Other tasks as assigned, including accurate review of invoices in accounts payable system.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Capable of motivating a workforce to meet department goals.

In-depth knowledge of manufacturing and production workflow; finished goods, shipping/receiving requirements, safety, housekeeping, and quality activities within manufacturing.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Team leadership and motivational skills; strong organizational skills.

Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field or equivalent experience.

Minimum of five years in management successfully motivating 10+ employees in a manufacturing environment.

Other Work in accordance with all company policies and procedures regarding employment, safety, quality, product safety and legality, security, and regulatory compliance as applicable.
