Responsibilities
Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, tools, equipment, furnishing, fixtures, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems using journeyman-level skills.
Visually inspects and tests machinery, tools and equipment to assure proper working condition.
Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discuss operation variations to diagnose problems or repairs.
Dismantle defective machines, tools and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
Install and repair electrical apparatus, transformers, wiring, and electrical/electronic components of machinery and equipment, including communication lines or equipment.
Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems including facility plumbing, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment; repair and replace gauges, valves, and related equipment.
Repair and maintain physical structure and appearance of the establishment; perform or oversee cleaning, painting, furniture/fixtures maintenance, moving or installing furnishings, and waste handling.
Install programs or repair automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
Set up and operate machine tools (lathe, grinder, drill, milling) to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
Operate cutting tools and welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
Fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions, and other structures using various construction materials.
Licensed and capable of operating a motor vehicle; skilled to drive and operate a forklift.
Work as an active team member, participate in problem solving and process improvements, and train other employees as required.
Communicate issues impacting production schedules or the working environment to appropriate personnel.
Maintain high levels of safety and housekeeping; enforce safety rules and comply with fire safety and hazardous material handling regulations.
Use initiative to solve highly complex problems related to maintaining and repairing the physical plant and equipment.
Qualifications
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform operations with units of measure, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and perform routine duties requiring independent judgment.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands: Regular standing, manual dexterity, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling; occasional sitting and climbing; lifting up to 10-50 pounds as required.
Compensation In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $20.67 - $38.46.
Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
