We are seeking a meticulous and experiencedTrade Operations Specialist to join a leading international trading organisation. The role focuses on managing end-to-end shipment execution for dry-bulk commodities such as coal, iron ore, bauxite, and copper concentrate. You will work closely with trading, shipping, finance, and compliance teams to ensure smooth, accurate, and compliant trade operations across global markets.

Key Responsibilities Trade Execution & Documentation

Review and execute trade contracts for dry-bulk commodities in line with agreed commercial terms.

Coordinate with buyers, sellers, and shipping agents on vessel nominations, loading/discharge operations, and document flows.

Manage Letters of Credit (LCs) — including draft preparation, issuance, negotiation, and compliance checking.

Prepare and verify shipping documents, invoices, laytime calculations, and related operational paperwork.

Track vessel movements and ensure timely updates to internal systems and stakeholders.

Monitor receivables and payables to maintain healthy cashflow and compliance with internal timelines.

Risk Management & Compliance

Support front-office teams by reviewing contracts and identifying operational or credit risks.

Ensure all transactions adhere to internal control and compliance procedures.

Collaborate with finance and compliance departments to mitigate risk exposures and resolve trade discrepancies.

Uphold confidentiality, data integrity, and adherence to international trade regulations.

Continuous Improvement

Participate in process reviews and system testing to enhance operational efficiency.

Contribute to a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning within the operations team.

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline.

Ideally 3 years of experience in dry-bulk or metals trading operations.

Strong working knowledge of Letters of Credit (UCP600), shipping documentation, and laytime/demurrage.

Familiarity with FOB/CFR shipments, trade compliance, and risk management practices.

Experience with SAP or other commodities trading systems.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
