This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance, and supports Manufacturing and Supply Chain across all Blue Origin facilities. We are seeking skilled Avionics Technicians who will leverage their technical expertise and leadership to ensure safe and efficient human spaceflight. This role involves setting up production areas, operating precision tools, and leading continuous improvement initiatives to support our mission of safe space exploration. Placement will align with your expertise and with our highest-impact technical requirements in areas such as production support, integration and test, and hardware assembly. This is a pooling requisition for current and anticipated openings across multiple Lunar teams and shifts. Candidates will be matched to the right roles as needs are identified. Shifts: A — Mon-Fri (6am-2:30pm); B — Mon-Fri (2pm-10:30pm); C — Fri-Sun (6am-6:30pm); D — Fri-Sun (6pm-6:30am). Location: Space Coast, FL Relocation: Available Potential travel: Up to 10% for training and related activities (where applicable) Key Responsibilities
Configure new production work areas with the necessary tooling and equipment to ensure efficient workflow and minimize delays during the transition to high-rate manufacturing. Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes) and precision calibrated tools (torque wrenches, micrometers) to maintain high safety and quality standards. Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for safety and efficiency, enhancing overall productivity. Drive the transition from development to production, proactively troubleshooting and performing maintenance as needed. Maintain clean and organized work areas following 5S principles to promote safety and operational efficiency. Prepare and test payload systems and hardware by applying materials, painting, sealing, composite layup, repairs, testing, and assisting with vehicle assembly and installation. Team assignments will be determined based on experience and business needs. You may specialize in one or more of the following areas: Production / Manufacturing Support
— Provide tactical and technical support by setting up or improving manufacturing work areas and production operations; support design, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electro/mechanical systems and specialized test equipment. Integration / Assembly & Test
— Perform assembly, test, checkout, troubleshooting, and maintenance of flight and ground hardware; work from schematics, diagrams, layouts, or defined plans; use manufacturing, test, or diagnostic equipment including oscilloscopes and signal generators. Electrical / Mechanical Systems
— Hands-on activities supporting cable and harness production, sensor installation, connector work, and cable routing; participate in operational testing and fault isolation, and assist in remediation or improvement methods. Minimum Qualifications
Relevant Manufacturing & Avionics Technician experience: level I (0-3 years), level II (3+), level III (5+), or level IV (8+ years). Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately. Experience with precision calibration tools including torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser trackers, and optical measuring instruments. Ability to lift 50 lbs and work at heights (ladders, lifts) or in confined spaces. Expertise with adhesives, sealants, and thermal blankets. Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office. Ability to work required shifts and site, with flexibility for extended shifts/overtime as needed. Preferred Qualifications
IPC/WHMA-A-620 Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies certification. Industry certification, trade school training, or degree in related field. Experience with space flight hardware assembly. Ability to test/install sensors (accelerometers, thermocouples, pressure sensors, strain gauges, microphones, RTDs) and bonding/sealing/marking parts; harness mate/demate; cable routing; 3D model experience; precision assembly processes knowledge. Strong technical and leadership skills with attention to detail for leading complex integration tasks; effective collaboration in diverse teams; continuous improvement mindset. Experience with aerospace payloads, fairings, capsules; large out-of-autoclave curing and production control systems; ATF certification for handling/installing explosives; Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.
