SUMMARY: Performs and assists in direct and indirect patient care and procedures under the supervision of the physician during cardiac, vascular, and interventional procedures. Demonstrates critical thinking to ensure the delivery of safe, quality care to adult and geriatric patients. Documents accurately and promptly. Communicates and collaborates with other healthcare team members. Adheres to organizational policies, procedures, regulatory and accrediting body requirements, and professional standards. SOME RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Assist physicians in invasive procedures, including cardiac cath, vascular angiograms, stenting, pacemaker implants, and other procedures. Assess and document patient history, including indications/diagnosis, clinical presentation, height and weight, allergies, lab results, medications, vital signs, pain, respirations, and oxygenation. EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS: Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program with emphasis on anatomy, physiology, radiation physics, and interpersonal communication skills. Current radiographer license from the Ohio Department of Health and A.R.R.T. registry as an R.T. Advanced Registry in Cardiovascular (CV), Cardiac Intervention (CI), or Vascular Intervention (VI) preferred. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within one year. Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) preferred.
