Overview

The Division of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplant at Riley Children’s Health, affiliated with Indiana University School of Medicine, is interviewing applicants for a clinical research position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The successful candidate should be clinically trained in pediatric hematology/oncology/stem cell transplant with a focus on Stem Cell Transplant and Immunotherapy. Duties will include SCT-only inpatient consultation, outpatient consultation, outpatient clinics, and inpatient service. We invite qualified candidates who share our vision to provide compassionate, equitable, family-centered care for patients with cancer and blood disorders through a focus on cutting-edge research, exceptional quality, and the education of current and future leaders. The Division supports children, adolescents, and young adults diagnosed with cancer and blood disorders, treating more than 80% of the state’s young cancer patients. Each year, we care for over 300 new oncology patients and perform over 13,000 outpatient visits, offering expert care for leukemia, solid tumors, brain tumors, hematopoietic and stem cell transplants, as well as general hematology, sickle cell disease, thalassemia, bone marrow failure syndromes, hemophilia, and other coagulation disorders. The center is affiliated with the Indiana University School of Medicine’s Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center, Indiana’s only NCI-designated comprehensive center, and is home to the only nationally ranked oncology and hematology program in the state. The Stem Cell transplant program is FACT-accredited and an NCI-designated cancer center recognized for excellence and comprehensive services. Key highlights include a team with a SCT-focused service, 70-90 SCT/CAR-T patients per year, a brown center for immunotherapy with an on-site GM cell manufacturing facility, top 5 enrolling centers in COG and BMT CTN, program-specific dedicated APPs, Nurse Navigators, Social Workers, educational liaisons, psychologists, basic science researchers, and excellent mentorship and professional development. The division offers faculty appointments with IUSM and medical education opportunities for students, residents, and fellows, with comprehensive benefits through IUSM.
