Job Description: An OPS technician position is available in Dr. Feng Tang's laboratory in the Department of Chemistry to support research projects using Sequencing and Proteomics techniques to study DNA damage related to environmental exposure, endogenous metabolism, cancer, and aging.
The lab offers opportunities to learn and contribute to research involving analytical chemistry, biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, NGS sequencing, nanopore sequencing, proteomics, and bioinformatics in mammalian cell culture models.
We foster a collaborative environment focused on innovative research. The role involves performing routine experiments, supporting lab operations, and maintaining daily functions. This position is ideal for someone seeking research experience before applying to graduate or medical school.
Training will be provided in technologies such as CRISPR, Mass spectrometry, NGS sequencing, nanopore sequencing, bioinformatics, and confocal microscopy.

Qualifications:
Recent Bachelor's degree in Chemistry/Biological Sciences or related field
Self-motivated, responsible, energetic, problem solver, capable of working in diverse environments
Excellent organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Cell Biology (undergraduate lab experience)
Strong interpersonal skills and enjoyment in working with people
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
