Develop comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and clinical impressions responsive to age-appropriate patient and family needs. Perform differential diagnoses of mental/emotional disorders using the DSM. Diagnose biopsychosocial functioning, disability, and impairment for the patient/family. Develop treatment intervention plans that are diagnostically driven, outcomes-focused, and involve the patient/family and healthcare team. Establish an effective working relationship with patients and families to engage, collaborate, advocate, and problem solve to support and enhance mental health functioning. Utilize differential diagnostic skills and employ clinical treatments including crisis intervention, solution-focused therapy, individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy, grief and bereavement counseling, play therapy, sand tray therapy, EMDR, CBT, and mental status exams. Initiate Baker Act and facilitate Marchman Act when appropriate. Support psychosocial adjustment along the continuum of care and transition to the next level of care. Provide mental health education, information, consultation, and professional support to the healthcare team regarding patient/family needs. Demonstrate initiative and leadership in developing mental health services to meet patient care demands. Maintain up-to-date records of mental health activities in patients’ medical charts in compliance with confidentiality. Meet department/hospital growth goals as set forth by coaching plans and maintain attendance per policies. Perform independently and provide clinical practice in a health care setting; supervise and participate in teaching within the department, hospital, and community as appropriate. Engage in care coordination for the patient population and pursue subspecialty credentialing when applicable (e.g., sexual abuse, EMDR, CAP, CBT). Maintain compliance with Orlando Health policies and procedures. Qualifications
Education/Training:
Master’s degree from an accredited school of Social Work, Mental Health, Psychology or Marriage and Family Therapy or related field. Licensure/Certification:
Florida state licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Handle with Care (HWC) Certification required for Behavioral Health Unit. Experience:
Two (2) years of direct clinical experience in health or mental health settings, preferably with emphasis on the population served in the assigned area. Employment Details
