Psychologist - Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Health, Health Psychologist- Bariatrics Emphasis (Open Rank/Track Faculty) at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Duties And Responsibilities
Provide pre-surgical psychosocial evaluations for patients in the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery program. Provide pre- and post-surgical health psychology interventions; collaborate with a multidisciplinary weight management team. Offer psychotherapy for pre-/post-surgery patients and/or those pursuing non-surgical weight management facing eating or psychosocial distress. Collaborate with teams including advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, physicians, dietitians, exercise physiologists, and surgeons. Contribute to training, research, and scholarly activities. Represent OSU at professional meetings and community speaking engagements; perform academic responsibilities as assigned. Practice within Medical Center standards and policies. Qualifications/Requirements
Doctoral Degree in Psychology; licensed or license-eligible in Ohio. APA- or CPA-accredited clinical or counseling psychology doctoral program with an accredited clinical internship; preferably with at least one year of relevant post-doctoral experience. Licensed in Ohio by time of appointment. Candidates with prior training or experience in bariatrics and/or health psychology favored. Secondary area of specialization open; general health psychology; strengths in Geropsychology, Women’s Behavioral Health, Behavioral Sleep Medicine, Pain Psychology, Transplant Psychology, Cardiac Psychology are relevant.
