Location: Methodist Hospital, 8303 Dodge St, Omaha, NE Work Schedule: 7:00am to 5:00pm, 4 shifts per week, varying days, weekend call rotation every 10th weekend, weeknight call every other week. Sign on bonus: $10,000 (minimum 1 year sonographer experience) Tuition assistance, academic sponsorship, free parking. Responsibilities
Perform echo and vascular examinations per protocols. Identify patients, verify ID band and birth date. Ensure patient understanding of pending procedure. Cover appropriate body parts, position patient correctly. Critique exams for technical and positional accuracy, correct if necessary. Review orders for consistency, verify accuracy before exam. Assist physicians, patients, coworkers, provide patient care. Maintain awareness of ongoing exams, assist co‑workers as needed. Attend call, coordinate inpatient procedure flow. Maintain a working knowledge of Cerner, PACS, online worklist. Ensure compliance with department policies, maintain ARDMS license. Provide leadership and guidance for students’ education clinical experience. Qualifications
Education
American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registered or board eligible required. Accredited ultrasound technical 2‑year program completion. Mandatory in‑services and continuing education as required. Experience
Two years of clinical experience in echo/vascular required. Licenses / Certifications
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 3 months of hire. ARDMS registered or board eligible required. RVT and/or RDCS required upon employment, both after six months. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Effective communication with patients, families, hospital personnel. Organize work to perform several tasks concurrently. Computer skills required. Physical Requirements
Medium work – up to 50 pounds exertion. Standing, walking, kneeling, etc. as outlined. Job Hazards
No related chemical agents, explosives, electrical shock etc. Rare biological agents, physical hazards, equipment hazards specified. About Nebraska Methodist Health System
