Minimum Years of Experience: 18 months Med/Surg Tele Will you accept a first-time traveler: Not preferred Required Licenses / Certifications: RN, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Skills: EPIC experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, non-titrating cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem, Amiodarone), general Med/Surg tele care (tubes/drains, IV starts, blood products, wound care/dressing changes) Nursing Assistants: CNA with acute care Med/Surg experience; lift equipment (Hoyer) Staffing and Support
Department Support: CNA (ratios dependent on census), Charge Nurse, Clinical Supervisor, Phlebotomy 24/7, IV/VAT Team 24/7, Pharmacist dedicated to unit, Case Managers x2 per unit, MedSurg Clinical Nurse Specialist, RT 24/7 (nebulizers), Nurse Educator, Hospitalist 24/7 Remote Tele Monitoring: No; Unit Clerk, Charge/Clinical Supervisor and staff read/post every shift Technology and Equipment
EMR: EPIC IV Pumps: Alaris Medication Dispensing: Omnicell Monitors: Philips Rover Communication; Hoyer lift; Gait Belts; Activity closet for confused patients Floating
Floating within region and scope of practice; will be required to float per region needs to all facilities listed below as needed Region 2 facilities:
Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, Central Division (CMC Main + CMC Mercy + Levine Children’s Hospital) Note:
If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for time traveling between facilities (still on the clock) Orientation and Scheduling
Orientation: NEO; 2 days departmental Scheduling: Weekend rotation every other weekend No call Holiday Expectations: Travelers work 75% of holidays RTO: Up to 6 days off; time added to end of contract if contracted hours cannot be met Shift times: 7a-7p or 7p-7a Schedule cycle: Every 6 weeks Scrub Color: RN – Navy Blue Perks
