Bon Secours is seeking a Radiologic Technologist - Imaging at St. Francis Medical Center. The role involves applying the art and skill of diagnostic imaging using ionizing radiation in diagnostic radiology, under the direction of an authorized user. Responsibilities
Obtain patient clinical history and applicable lab work; document information for use by a licensed practitioner. Position and immobilize patients to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient comfort and ability. Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others. Perform radiographic procedures by selecting and operating imaging equipment and related accessories. Verify informed consent and complete pre- and post-procedure documentation. Assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures; apply aseptic technique as needed. Perform timeout as required by policy. Identify, prepare and/or administer medications/contrast as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. Receive and document verbal, written and electronic orders in the patient’s medical record. Evaluate images for technical quality and document patient dose exposures. Interact professionally with physicians, technologists, hospital staff, patients and families. Operate radiographic equipment in accordance with ALARA principles. Qualifications
Education: Associate’s degree from an ARRT-accredited institute (preferred). Certification: ARRT certification and registration (required). Licensure: State licensure (preferred, unless required by the state). Credentialing and training: BLS from American Heart Association (required at hire for certain locations; preferred or required prior to independent patient care depending on site). Experience: 1 year of experience in radiation safety and patient care (preferred). Technical: EPIC EHR (preferred); PACS (preferred). Skills: patient-centered care, attention to detail, communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and ability to perform shift work and patient handling as needed. Additional Information
Working conditions may include periods of high stress, exposure to noise, light, hazardous substances, body fluids, and moving mechanical parts; may require travel to off-site locations. Physical requirements include lifting/carrying, push/pull, stooping, standing, and walking; ability to work with neonates through geriatrics as applicable to the role.
