We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced EHS Construction Manager to act as the Owner’s representative and provide daily oversight of EHS performance for the General Contractor and all subcontractors at our Fleet Data construction site. This critical role involves championing our top-level EHS policy, fostering a strong on-site safety culture, and ensuring rigorous implementation and verification of EHS programs, particularly High‑Risk Activities. The incumbent will be a visible leader who pays great attention to detail, spends at least 75% of their time observing construction operations, and focuses on overseeing high‑risk activities with a high level of professionalism to ensure strong on‑site environmental, health, and safety performance. Key Responsibilities

Daily EHS Oversight & Contractor Management

Provide daily oversight of EHS performance standards of the General Contractor and all subcontractors at the construction site. Meticulously oversee daily operations, audit documentation, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and internal policies. Support and champion the top‑level EHS policy statement, promoting a strong on‑site culture where environmental, health, and safety are paramount. Oversee the implementation of High‑Risk Activities (HRAs) programs, such as working from heights, electrical safety, energy isolation, lifting operations, mobile equipment, material handling, confined spaces, ground disturbance, driving, temperature extremes, and noise. Contractor HRA Compliance by overseeing:

Three levels of risk assessments (program, activity, and task level) and corresponding forecasting and planning meetings. Incorporation of HRAs into their project schedule. General Contractor planning meetings, look‑aheads, and daily coordination meetings. Pre‑task planning with workers and daily ‘toolbox’ talks. Implementation of permit procedures for applicable HRAs. Development and implementation of specific HRA plans for planned activities. Communications with workers, including sharing lessons learned and implementation. Worker orientation, training, and competency assessments. Audit and inspection completions following their own EHS processes and procedures with follow‑up. Meeting EHS reporting criteria, including generation of EHS and HRA‑related metrics, analysis, and overall performance. Implementation of the Management of Change (MOC) for schedule, costs, design, personnel, and scope. Safety in Design meetings. Utilization of BIM/VDC for HRA management. EHS Program Assurance

Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, local, and international EHS regulations. Oversee the implementation of Fleet General Contractor EHS Policy and Procedures, including HRA Management. Develop and track key EHS performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular reports for senior leadership. Pro‑actively lead, engage, and coach contractors to ensure effective EHS process compliance and continuous improvement. Organize high‑level risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards. Participate in and lead the Safety in Design committee. Attend HRA forecasting and planning meetings. Establish and manage a robust Owner EHS audit and inspection program. Ensure disciplined compliance tracking of any non‑conformities, deficiencies, and safety observations. Support development and periodic drill/exercising of emergency response plans. Implement environmental management best practices, including waste management and pollution prevention. EHS Program Leadership and Culture

Act as EHS Owner in all Contractor / Owner meetings. Serve as the on‑site champion of Fleet Data Centers’ EHS culture and policies. Build trust, foster a “non‑blame” culture, and coach contractors. Promote hazardous observations and a non‑blame culture. Direct and coach the learning and post‑mortem process for incidents. Promote a strong on‑site safety culture and build relationships with the General Contractor and stakeholders. Partner closely with construction, engineering, procurement, legal, and internal departments to integrate EHS considerations. Utilize EHS software to oversee compliance tracking. Assist with contractor EHS vetting and assurance. Daily Security Oversight & Coordination

Provide daily on‑site leadership for physical security operations during construction. Coordinate security protocols with General Contractor and subcontractors. Conduct daily perimeter and gate inspections. Oversee incident response for security events. Manage and review contractor compliance with site security training and credentialing. Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services. Support integration between Safety and Security operations. Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree. 3+ years of experience as an EHS leader in the Data Center construction industry. 5+ years of progressive experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety management within a construction environment. 5+ years of experience overseeing EHS performance standards for general contractors and sub‑contractors and managing high‑risk activities. 5+ years of experience leading investigations and developing high‑quality incident reports. 5+ years of experience managing EHS software, including contractor vetting, compliance, and metrics reporting. Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with Safety in Design principles and the use of BIM/VDC for EHS management. Relevant safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CHST, OSHA 30). Experience partnering with internal and external stakeholders to integrate EHS into every phase of construction projects. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. This role will include up to 25% travel to Fleet offices, as well as to meet with vendors. Expected Salary Range: $120,000–$150,000 base salary plus bonus. Fleet Data Centers Employment
