Performs radiologic exams and procedures. Provides patient privacy and confidentiality. Ensures patient care is performed in an efficient manner, meeting standards consistent with infection control policies and OLOLRMC Standards for Service Excellence. Responsible for the safe operation of radiologic equipment utilized in patient care and maintains current knowledge of the operation of any equipment used. Responsibilities

Perform radiologic exams and procedures in accordance with departmental policies and physician orders. Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality; provide efficient patient care in alignment with infection control policies and service standards. Operate radiologic equipment safely and maintain current knowledge of equipment operation. Gather information from medical records, significant others, and health care providers using consistent and appropriate techniques. Examine radiographic requisitions to verify accuracy by confirming procedures with doctors’ orders and ensuring complete information (e.g., patient history, clinical diagnosis, special instructions). Verify patient identity and assess information related to contrast agent selection and potential adverse reactions; provide pre- and post-procedure explanations to patients and families. Practice standard precautions and follow procedures for patients in isolation; document required information in appropriate records. Maintain clean, disinfected work areas and equipment; dispose of contaminated items appropriately; use Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) accurately. Adhere to federal and state radiation safety guidelines; minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff (ALARA); wear personnel monitoring devices. Produce images by selecting appropriate equipment and immobilization devices; evaluate radiographic images for diagnostic quality and correct positioning; process exposed images. Qualifications

2 years of clinical training in an AMA-approved program Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and current Louisiana Registered Radiologic license (LSRT); New Graduates Registry Eligible for ARRT and current LSRT license or current LSRT temp license; BLS Certification Employment details
