Job Title: Research Senior Technician - Radiation Oncology Department: Medicine | Radiation Oncology Position Type: Regular Scheduled Hours: 40 Shift: First Shift

Responsibilities include:

Independently conducts assigned experiments

Performs a variety of molecular, cellular, and biological research techniques and procedures including PCR reactions, gel electrophoresis, assays, cell cultures and Northern and Western analysis

Sorts and processes tissue and blood samples

Tests and evaluates current procedures

Performs routine procedures on lab animals

Records, consolidates and assists with analysis of research results

Assists in evaluating validity of data obtained from experimental procedures

Summarizes data for inclusion in grant proposals and manuscripts

Prepares research progress reports

Assists principal investigator with the preparation of publications, manuscripts, articles, posters, and abstracts

Conducts library research on requested topics through researching current literature

Oversees and maintains accurate records of laboratory activities

Assists with training of junior research staff, and undergraduate and graduate students in research methods and equipment operation

Sets up and operates laboratory equipment

Monitors research supply, including specimens, inventory and initiates procurement requests as needed

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required; 4 years of relevant experience required with High School diploma or GED

2 years of relevant experience required with Associate's Degree

0 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree

Location: Tzagournis Medical Research Facility (0163) Career Band: Individual Contributor - Technical Career Level: T3
