Research Senior Technician - Physiology & Cell Biology Job Title: Research Senior Technician - Physiology & Cell Biology

Position Type: Term (Fixed Term)

Schedule: 40 hours per week, Varying Shifts

Responsibilities: Assist and support scientific investigation to study as directed in the Department of Physiology and Cell Biology; independently conduct assigned experiments; perform a variety of molecular, cellular, and biological research techniques and procedures including PCR reactions, gel electrophoresis, assays, cell cultures and Northern and Western analysis; sort and process tissues; test and evaluate current procedures; perform routine procedures on lab animals; record, consolidate and assist with analysis of research results; assist in evaluating validity of data obtained from experimental procedures; summarize data for inclusion in grant proposals and manuscripts; prepare research progress reports; assist principal investigator with the preparation of publications, manuscripts, articles, posters, and abstracts; conduct library research on requested topics through researching current literature; oversee and maintain accurate records of laboratory activities; assist with training of junior research staff, and undergraduate and graduate students in research methods and equipment operation; set up and operate laboratory equipment; monitor research supply, including specimens, inventory and initiate procurement requests as needed.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required; 4 years of relevant experience required with High School diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience required with Associate's Degree, or 0 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree.; ability to translate, adapt and apply academic or practical knowledge in the conduct of biological/health science research is required.

Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
