Full‑Time, 100% – 9‑month appointment – Hybrid work arrangement (on‑campus and remote).

Applicants must reside in Wisconsin or Minnesota at the time of hire.

Job Summary UW‑Superior seeks a full‑time, 9‑month teaching assistant professor for the new RN‑to‑BSN nursing program. The role primarily involves teaching academic courses for enrolled nursing students, including BSN@HOME program participants. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills and experience teaching online. The successful candidate will also participate in activities for Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accreditation and collaborate with the BSN@HOME Director on assessment and curricular improvements. Other responsibilities include student recruitment, advising, mentoring, and contributing to the nursing program’s mission.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and design curriculum and instructional materials for nursing courses.

Advise students on academic and career directions.

Facilitate classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction, including assessment of student performance.

Supervise student employees involved in instruction.

Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop teaching strategies for the nursing discipline.

Contribute to scholarly teaching work, including publications and presentations.

Support strategic development of curriculum and academic content to ensure integrity of the educational mission.

Assist Nursing Program Director with continuous assessment and program improvement.

Integrate innovative online teaching strategies and student‑engaged activities.

Provide academic advising, career mentorship, and support student recruitment, retention, and graduation.

Assist with accreditation activities by CCNE.

Represent the nursing program on campus and in the community, including professional associations.

Participate in departmental and institutional governance.

Complete required trainings, professional development, and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Current unencumbered license as a registered nurse in the United States, or attainment of a Wisconsin RN license no later than December 31, 2025.

Master’s degree (MSN) or doctorate degree (DNP or PhD) from an accredited nursing program.

Current knowledge of nursing practice issues and community‑engaged learning.

At least one (1) year of experience as an instructor in an accredited nursing program within the last five (5) years.

Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience as a registered nurse.

Eligible for health care provider CPR certification, and up‑to‑date immunizations as required by clinical agencies.

Desirable Qualifications

Teaching experience with online, asynchronous education delivery.

Content knowledge in nursing economics, health care policy, and Indigenous health practices.

Experience advising and mentoring RNs or undergraduate nursing students.

Clinical teaching with population health or senior capstone clinical courses.

Licensure in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Detail‑oriented with strong record‑keeping and data management experience.

Experience integrating technology (artificial intelligence) to enhance teaching and learning.

Compensation and Benefits Salary: $80,000 – $88,000 annually.
