The Division of Pediatric Psychology at Akron Children's Hospital (ACH) is seeking to grow our team with several pediatric psychologist positions. Opportunities to specialize in one or more areas of pediatric subspecialty medicine exist based on candidates' interest and expertise.
Responsibilities and Areas of Specialization
Behavioral Sleep Medicine.
Join an established and growing multidisciplinary team in the AASM-accredited sleep center. The psychologist will evaluate and treat behavioral sleep concerns including insomnia, nightmare disorders, nighttime fears, circadian rhythm disorders, parasomnias, and concerns with sleep quality (e.g., compliance for treatment of sleep apnea, restless legs syndrome). Embedded within the outpatient Sleep Center, with collaboration with medical and behavioral health team members.
Consultation / Liaison.
Inpatient C/L service provides psychological consults and brief intervention for youth admitted to medical floors. The psychologist will join the inpatient C/L team to expand quality services for concerns such as pain management, medical trauma, adjustment to serious illness/injury, and adherence to medical recommendations. Feeding Disorders Program.
Join an interdisciplinary feeding team with psychologists, occupational and speech therapists, and registered dietitians. The psychologist will conduct individual and team evaluations and treat children with feeding difficulties, including ARFID and Pediatric Feeding Disorder (PFD). Opportunities for program development and clinical research are encouraged, with access to a robust research database.
Research, Education, and Training Opportunities for program development, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical research are robust, regardless of area of clinical specialization.
