Overview
Therapist (LSW/LPC/LCSW/LCPC) – Crisis Counseling – BroMenn Provides direct treatment, counseling, psychotherapy, and makes referrals for patients and families as part of the multidisciplinary mental health team. Assists the treatment team through consultation so that the patient's psychosocial needs are recognized and met. Facilitates adjustment by the patient, family, and significant others to promote maximal benefits from health care services. Provides continuity of care from the hospital to the community. Crisis counseling Responsibilities
Utilize clinical assessment skills to determine significant psychosocial factors contributing to the patient\'s disorder and dysfunctional behavior. Identify dynamics of patient and family interaction patterns that reinforce dysfunction. Evaluate quality of patient and family support networks in the community. Ascertain patient history of illness, prior functional level, and coping ability; provide education and support to patients and families. Lead multidisciplinary treatment planning with clinical input; support diagnostic and treatment planning processes. Engage in individual contact with patients to monitor progress, discuss discharge planning, and promote insight development. Prepare patient charts for multidisciplinary treatment planning meetings and document to ensure continuity of care across disciplines. Provide psychoeducational classes based on unit needs and acuity. Attend weekly meetings with Mental Health staff to review clinical care; inform RNs, leadership, and psychiatrists of pertinent information obtained via therapy or assessments. Document all casework activities per department standards and contribute to quality management monitoring. Participate in Department Unit Council activities for professional growth and peer review. Use clinical skills to promote patient and family satisfaction. Provide therapy support to patients outside the Mental Health Unit when appropriate for MHU-level care; collaborate with the Addiction Recovery Unit and support the PDQ assessment process for potential inpatient detox. The compensation range for this position is $29.29 per hour – $50.38 per hour. This represents a good-faith minimum and maximum range at posting.
