Overview
Patient Services Associate - Meriden, CT (On-site) - Full Time - Bilingual Required (English & Spanish) The Patient Service Associate will work closely with a diverse population of patients and medical professionals. They will provide exceptional customer service, maintain professionalism in all interactions, and multi-task as the first point of contact for patients. Responsibilities include greeting and scheduling patients, managing the phone system, maintaining confidentiality, and supporting data entry and job-specific competencies. Other duties as assigned. Role And Responsibilities
Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors and callers Oversee a safe, efficient, and comfortable reception area Greet patients and visitors and assist as appropriate Review schedules daily to ensure accuracy and fill appointment opportunities Schedule and reschedule appointments per CHC scheduling guidelines Collect, verify, update and document patient demographics, insurance information and forms Reconcile patient visits daily Verify active insurance coverage and status and update information as necessary Collect patient payments, balances and copays Assist patients with payment plans/sliding fee applications and ensure applications are up-to-date Complete end-of-day reporting and ensure records balance Answer, screen, and direct incoming calls and document in EHR per CHC guidelines Assist patients with forms and scan into EHR per CHC Indexing protocols Maintain patient confidentiality Escalate concerns to site leads/Operations Manager and offer suggestions for improvement Support manager in monitoring inventory of supplies for the office Meet and exceed assigned individual and departmental goals Other duties and projects as assigned Qualifications
Associates degree, medical office or medical assistant degree required Bilingual skills, Spanish speaking, required Exceptional customer service skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proven ability to multi-task Problem solving and critical thinking skills Excellent organizational skills Healthcare experience in Medical, Dental, or Behavioral Health preferred Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word preferred Physical Requirements / Work Environment
Schedules are dependent on the needs of the site 1 Saturday a month is required Minimal physical effort; must be able to operate computer and telephone continuously Regular regional travel as necessary Benefits for Full-Time Employees
