Advanced Practice Provider - UAB Acute Care Surgery Services ($20k Annual PM Stipend) The following APPs may be considered for this role: Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Work schedule: Full-time, benefited, with 12-hour PM shifts from 5pm to 5am, totaling 14-16 shifts per month. Weekends and holidays are required. Compensation includes a base salary plus a $20,000 monthly PM stipend (paid out monthly as $1,666.67), added after department orientation. Full-time APPs also receive an annual $2,000 CME allowance for recertification, fees, and CMEs. The APP will work with the multidisciplinary team to provide critical care for SICU and ICU patients, including assessments, documentation, developing care plans, ventilator management, and patient coordination. Position Summary

To provide medical care within the scope of practice to acute care and emergency patients under physician supervision or collaboration, including physical exams, assessments, procedures, and performance improvement activities. Key Duties & Responsibilities

Formulate and implement comprehensive patient care plans based on assessments, including education, prescriptions, and diagnostics. Ensure complete documentation of assessments and care plans. Order and interpret labs and diagnostics. Maintain records as required by regulatory agencies and participate in quality improvement activities. Assist in research protocols and serve as a patient advocate. Provide orientation and training to new staff, and serve as a clinical resource. Ensure a safe environment and demonstrate professional growth. Position Requirements

Minimum: Master's in Nursing with Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification or graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Work experience cannot substitute education. Licenses/Certifications: Certified as an APN with CRNP certification or licensed as a PA with PA-C certification, BLS certification (or obtained within 30 days), with ACLS/PALS as required.
