Psychologist
position at Central Ohio Behavioral Healthcare, located at 2200 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43223. What you’ll do at OhioMHAS
: Develop and/or coordinate psychological services on assigned patient units at Central Ohio Behavioral Healthcare (COBH), including the Timothy B. Moritz Forensic Unit (TBMFU). Responsibilities include clinical and forensic services such as individual/group therapy, competency restoration, forensic screenings, assessments, evaluations, and risk assessments. Perform psychological and forensic assessments and evaluations. Consult with unit professionals (e.g., psychiatrist, nurse, social workers, activities therapist, Chaplain, Volunteer Services Coordinator, Unit Director) regarding patient and milieu issues. Document activities and complete forms in compliance with certifying and accrediting agencies (e.g., Joint Commission, Medicare, Ohio Psychological Association). Provide clinical supervision to lower-level psychologists, psychology assistants, SAMI staff, students, or post-doctoral fellows. Respond to emergency situations as needed. Attend seminars, conferences, workshops, and meetings to maintain professional knowledge and licensure; make presentations; participate in departmental activities and meetings. Additional activities may include providing testimony, participating on hospital response teams, serving on committees, engaging in Trauma-Informed Care initiatives, and presenting at conferences or workshops. COBH offers the opportunity to work with diverse populations, including forensic, long-term SMI individuals, and acute civil patients, many with complex circumstances. We have the only maximum-security psychiatric facility in the state. Our treatment teams are cohesive, dynamic, and compassionate. Step 1
