We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Electrical Estimator to lead estimating efforts for large-scale industrial and commercial electrical construction projects. You will develop competitive, accurate, and strategic cost estimates and collaborate closely with project management, engineering, and executive teams throughout preconstruction. Over time, this role will grow into a leadership position responsible for the estimating department.
Key Responsibilities Lead complex estimating and strategic bidding
Lead preparation of detailed, accurate estimates for industrial and commercial electrical projects
Quantity Take‑Offs Perform complex take-offs and apply unit pricing for labor, material, equipment and subs
Develop bid strategies; lead reviews and presentations to executive leadership
Cross‑Functional Collaboration Align estimates with execution plans; strengthen vendor/subcontractor relationships
Conduct site visits and attend pre‑bid meetings to assess scope, conditions, and risks
Evaluate historical data and market trends to build/refine cost databases
Mentor junior estimators and assist in training programs
Assist with value engineering, design‑assist, and design‑build efforts
Continuously improve estimating processes, procedures, and best practices
Qualifications Essential skills and experience
Education & Experience Expertise in reading and interpreting complex plans, specs, and electrical schematics
Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
Industry Background
Experience in the industrial or commercial construction industry (field and/or office)
Core Skills Analytical Excellence
Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills
Communication
Strong written and verbal communication; lead complex conversations with vendors, subs, and teams
Codes & Practices
Strong understanding of NEC, construction sequencing, and industry best practices
Preferred Skills & Attributes What helps you stand out
Proficiency with estimating software (McCormick preferred) and tools like Bluebeam
Leadership & Delivery Supervisory experience; design‑build or design‑assist; degree in EE/CM or advanced field experience
Industry Acumen Familiarity with industrial automation/controls; strong business acumen and local market knowledge
