The Instrumentation, Electrical, and Controls (IEC) Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, building, installing, and commissioning a variety of industrial control systems in diverse operational environments. Responsibilities include programming, preventive maintenance, panel building, light electrical work, and more. All employees are expected to operate with urgency, accountability, and flexibility while upholding Wescom’s core values. Responsibilities and Duties

Safely and efficiently troubleshoot electrical systems, including but not limited to:

PLCs Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) Power systems Instrumentation and controls

Build, test, and troubleshoot control system logic and designs Perform electrical circuit troubleshooting and repairs Assist with:

Conduit and wire installation Lighting repair Hydraulic, pneumatic, and power transmission systems

Participate in preventive maintenance (PM) and planned outage activities Perform testing and maintenance on breakers, transformers, and other electrical components Attend company-required onsite training sessions Communicate effectively with clients during troubleshooting and repair activities Support project teams and complete assigned tasks in a timely and professional manner Be an active safety role model and adhere to all safety requirements Job Description

Degree in Industrial Controls/Automation

or

5+ years of experience in Industrial Automation I&E Strong willingness to learn and participate in ongoing training Experience with programming software such as:

Rockwell Siemens Schneider Honeywell Emerson (etc.)

Experience in Automation, Instrumentation, and Electrical systems

required Candidates who may not meet all qualifications but demonstrate the right mindset and drive are encouraged to apply Expect 40 hours a week Start time: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday Overtime as required to meet project schedules and client needs Participation in a shared On-Call rotation for nights and weekends Salary range: $60,000–$90,000 The Instrumentation, Electrical, and Controls (IEC) Technician reports to the Automation I&E Manager. Several potential areas of involvement, include: Field Technician – Execute hands‑on installation, wiring, and commissioning Panel Fabrication Technician – Build and test custom UL508A control panels Startup & Commissioning Technician – System start‑up, testing, and client turnover Controls Programmer / Integration Specialist – Develop, document, and implement automation solutions Wescom believes in empowering people and is always willing to train the right person.
