Job Summary

Acclaim Multi-Specialty Group is seeking a dedicated Psychiatrist for a Cross-Cover position within our dynamic and expanding Behavioral Health Division at JPS Health Network. This unique position offers the opportunity to work across multiple psychiatric settings—including Inpatient Psychiatry, Outpatient Clinics, Consultation-Liaison Services, and the Psychiatric Emergency Center (PEC)—while gaining broad clinical experience in a mission-driven public health system.

About Our Behavioral Health Services

The JPS Behavioral Health Division delivers a comprehensive range of services through a collaborative, multidisciplinary model. Our team includes:

Psychiatrically trained Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers Social Workers, Peer Recovery Support Specialists, and Mental Health Technicians A dedicated Clinical Pharmacist Highly experienced and collaborative nursing staff

Services Include

Adult & Adolescent Inpatient and Outpatient Psychiatry 36-bed Adult Long-Term Care Psychiatry Unit 98-bed Inpatient Psychiatry Unit (Adults and Adolescents) Comprehensive Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry (including trauma consults) 24-hour Psychiatric Emergency Center – 20,000+ visits per year Behavioral Health Assessment Center with Urgent Walk-in Clinic 6 Outpatient Clinics (expanding to 8) and 4 Community-Based Partial Hospital Programs Psychological and Neuropsychological Testing

Cross-Cover Role Highlights

In this versatile position, the provider will rotate across various service areas to support continuity and access to care, including:

Adult and Adolescent Inpatient Units Outpatient Psychiatry Clinics Consultation-Liaison Service (Medical-Surgical Units) Psychiatric Emergency Center (PEC) This role offers a dynamic and flexible clinical experience, ideal for providers who enjoy variety, collaboration, and opportunities to broaden their skill set across the full spectrum of behavioral health care.

Schedule

Full-Time: Monday–Friday Inpatient Weekend Call Rotation required

Duties And Essential Job Functions

The Physician is responsible for administering and interpreting all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations within the inpatient and/or outpatient setting. This position will also educate patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments; may also conduct physicals, order tests and serve as a patient's healthcare provider.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinates the multidisciplinary care delivered to all patients, to optimize patient care. Reviews patient medical charts to diagnose, treat, and provide care management and education to patients and families. Makes appropriate patient referrals as necessary. Monitors guidelines for the management of care and for ensuring the services are delivered in compliance with the guidelines established by JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group. Provides evidence-based and compassionate care to all patients as assigned to improve patient outcomes and increase patient satisfaction scores. Demonstrates patient centered and patient valued behavior. Maintains a collaborative environment with other referring physicians, residents, clinical staff, and support staff to provide quality patient care. Supports academic, educational and research endeavors. Attends Performance Improvement Programs and Peer Review committee meetings; and is an active participant in the process. Partners and communicates with acumen to build a positive brand and patient/customer experience for those who encounter JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group. This would include health network staff, vendors, outside partners, patients, stakeholders, and local community leaders. Serves as a resource to the community. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

Current Medical Doctor (M.D) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree from an accredited school of medicine. Residency and/or Fellowship training in Psychiatry.

Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training

Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of Texas. Board Certification or Board Eligible.
