Responsibilities The Speech Therapist in Home Health is responsible for assessing and evaluating patient needs related to speech and language disorders, as well as communication, swallowing, and cognitive impairments. Based on these assessments, the therapist develops treatment plans, performs interventions to improve patient well-being, and monitors progress. Provide services within the scope of practice defined by state laws, in accordance with the plan of care, and in coordination with the healthcare team Evaluate patient function using diagnostic and prognostic tests, and assist physicians in developing therapy plans Treat patients to improve effective communication, expressing thoughts according to patient condition and standards of practice Observe, document, and report patient responses and condition changes to supervising nurses or physicians Educate patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members on speech therapy techniques and practices Education and Experience License Requirements: Current license to practice Speech Therapy in the state of employment Current CPR certification Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle Company Overview LHC Group is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
