Per Diem Nurse Practitioner Hospitalist Opening - Northern Dutchess Hospital, Rhinebeck, NY Northern Dutchess Hospital of Nuvance Health, proudly joining Northwell, located just two hours north of New York City, is seeking a per diem nurse practitioner hospitalist to join its busy and growing program.

Duties will include admitting and potential for cross‑coverage, rounding, discharges and working with physicians. You will have the opportunity to work independently but alongside the Physicians in Hospitalist Medicine.

Description NDH is a 68‑bed acute care not‑for‑profit community hospital with an excellent medical staff, exceptional anesthesia, and 24/7 hospitalist coverage. The hospital has recently renovated operating rooms, a brand‑new, top‑rated emergency department, and fully modernized patient care areas. Northern Dutchess is part of Nuvance Health, a seven‑hospital system and multi‑specialty practice including Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Rhinebeck is part of one of the largest historic districts in the United States located along the scenic Hudson River. The town offers New York City culture in a friendly, small‑town setting, with restaurants, cafés, boutique shops, and larger events at the Dutchess Country Fairgrounds. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy skiing, hiking, biking, fishing, and boating nearby. Residents enjoy great access to top‑rated restaurants, performing arts centers, museums, excellent housing, school systems, and prestigious colleges and universities. New York City is easily accessible via Amtrak. The Hudson Valley boasts a terrific quality of life, with endless leisure options and fine colleges such as Vassar College, Bard College, Marist College, SUNY New Paltz, and the Culinary Institute of America. Only 75 minutes north of New York City, the area offers easy commuter access via Metro‑North Rail and Amtrak.

Minimum Qualifications

3 years of experience in hospital medicine, internal medicine, or critical care (preferred)

Strong clinical decision‑making, communication, and teamwork skills

Graduate of an NP educational program approved by the State of New York

Current NP certification from either the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or the American Nurses Credentialing Center

Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees

Current New York State license as registered nurse and NP

Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
