CLINICAL COUNSELOR - Central California Women's Facility (CCWF) at California Correctional Health Care Services. Job Description and Duties
This is a limited term position which may be extended or become permanent. Effective July 1, 2025, PLP 2025 may reduce base salaries and provide leave credits through June 2027; salaries do not reflect changes. This position is located at Central California Women's Facility (CCWF) in Chowchilla, CA, in Madera County. The position number to indicate on application is 381-220-0050-XXX. Main communication for this position will be via email; ensure a valid email address is on the application. Responsibilities include applying counseling interventions and psychotherapeutic techniques within the scope of applicable laws and licensure to improve an incarcerated individual’s mental health and outcomes. The role involves preventive outreach and wellness strategies for incarcerated individuals, including those not in the mental health delivery system. Minimum Qualifications
Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling or Psychotherapy, meeting Business and Professional Code 4999.32. Licensure: Valid license as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science. If not licensed at time of appointment, eligible to be appointed contingent on obtaining licensure within four years; may be employed for the period necessary to attain licensure plus one year. Note: A Training and Development assignment will not be considered at this time. Additional Information
