As a Medical Assistant on the Hematology/Oncology Outpatient clinic team, you will collaborate with staff to create a welcoming environment for patients, families and visitors, assist with medication management, patient monitoring, administrative tasks and more to help ensure the best possible health outcomes. This role can be a stepping-stone for future opportunities within other units or departments in the hospital. The caregiver typically works days from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Responsibilities
Assist with performing screenings and treatments by gathering and updating information related to health maintenance, identifying medication changes, updating allergy information, collecting specimens, performing tests, and documenting patient care. Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition. Maintain equipment, medical supplies and examination areas. Assist in pre-visit planning by updating the health maintenance tab. Perform administrative/clerical duties, such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry and patient registration. Minimum qualifications
Graduate from an approved Medical Assisting Program Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within the new hire period Military training as a hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) considered Background in customer service Completion of a clinical externship or extensive clinical experience Preferred qualifications
CMA, NCMA, CCMA certification Successful completion of a Cleveland Clinic Externship One year of patient care experience; ambulatory/doctor’s office experience Epic experience Medical background Physical requirements
Manual dexterity to operate office equipment May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision Light work: lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently Personal protective equipment
