You will work with staff to create a welcoming environment for patients, families and visitors, assist with medication management, patient monitoring, and administrative tasks, and have opportunities to enhance skills and explore advanced positions within Cleveland Clinic. Responsibilities
Assist with screening and treatments by gathering information related to health maintenance, collecting specimens, and documenting patient care. Update health maintenance at patient visits, accurately identify medication changes, and update allergy information at each visit. Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition. Administer specific medications under the direction of a provider. Maintain equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning and troubleshooting. Maintain examination areas. Assist in pre-visit planning by updating the health maintenance tab. Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry and patient registration. Minimum qualifications
Graduate from an accredited Medical Assisting Program Military training as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered Current demonstrated clinical proficiency Completion of a clinical externship (extensive clinical experience may be considered in lieu of formal clinical externship) Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) within the new hire period Preferred qualifications
CMA, NCMA, CCMA certification Successful completion of CC Externship One year of experience in patient care Medical background or enrollment in a medical career program EPIC experience Physical requirements
Manual dexterity to operate office equipment May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting Good visual acuity with or without corrective vision Light work: lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently Additional notes on production pace and job demands as applicable Personal protective equipment
