The Department of Drug Discovery and Biomedical Sciences (DDBS) at the College of Pharmacy, University of South Carolina (USC), is seeking to hire a Research Technician to conduct research in Dr. Jun Zhu’s laboratory on ongoing NIH-funded research projects to study the underlying mechanisms of HIV-1 infection associated neurocognitive disorders.

The Research Technician is expected to perform research under the supervision of the Principal Investigator. The duties involves conducting cell culture and pharmacological assays to characterize the

in vitro

pharmacological profile of human vesicular monoamine transporter (VMAT2) and its mutants, and to test the compounds to identify optimized probe molecules using cell based expressing human VMAT2. In addition, the Research Technician is expected to assist with other ongoing experiments and maintain the instruments, lab safety, lab cleaning/organizing. Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in biomedical science or related field. Prior experience working in a research laboratory is preferred. Number of Vacancies:
