Overview

Master of Yellow Iron (Heavy Equipment Mechanic) at Rock Pros USA. We are hiring two highly skilled mechanics to cover the South/East and North/West regions; travel to various locations in Arizona and potentially Nevada is expected. A company vehicle is provided to support field work. Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair yellow iron equipment including loaders, haul trucks, crushers, screens, and plant deck/conveyor systems. Serve as the primary contact to get equipment back in action when down. Tackle complex breakdowns, identify root causes, and implement preventative maintenance to reduce recurrence. Perform large-scale work such as engine overhauls, transmission work, and hydraulic and electrical system troubleshooting. Use specialized tools safely and efficiently. Weld and fabricate as needed to repair or modify components and mounts to restore machine operation. Provide leadership and mentorship to junior mechanics; delegate tasks and ensure timely repairs while promoting safety and continuous learning. Contribute to maintenance planning, keep the parts house stocked, maintain accurate records, and assist in tool procurement. Communicate repair plans and outcomes clearly to the operations team and management; update on downtime impact and scheduling. Maintain and manage the company-provided vehicle and keep a personal toolkit up to date. Requirements & Qualifications

Extensive hands-on experience as a heavy equipment mechanic in surface mining or rock crushing environments; relevant certifications or licenses. Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems; proficiency in welding and fabrication. Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills. Safety-focused with a track record of working in hazardous environments. Clean driving record and unrestricted driver’s license; willingness to travel widely within Arizona and potentially Nevada. Owns a comprehensive personal toolkit and understands rigging and lifting heavy components. Tools & Systems

Familiarity with safety/compliance software and asset management systems; awareness of time tracking and payroll software is a plus. Compensation

Salary: $32 to $40 hourly. Note: This description reflects current responsibilities and requirements and may evolve with business needs.
