Associate Manufacturing Engineer at Viega LLC. This role involves designing, integrating, and improving manufacturing systems and processes to enhance quality, reliability, and cost efficiency. The engineer interprets drawings and specifications, collaborates with manufacturing personnel to determine optimal solutions, and works with engineering and production teams to identify and resolve performance issues or tool life concerns. What You'll Do
Troubleshoot new or existing production problems involving designs, materials, or processes. Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve manufacturing processes or products or to reduce costs, using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts. Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness. Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing. Work with suppliers to help ensure successful completion of manufacturing projects. Design tooling for metal tube forming using provided computer programs. Review current tooling specifications and suggest improvements. Interact with manufacturing, maintenance, tool vendors, quality and other department supervisors or managers to solve and correct existing and expected manufacturing problems. Train other tooling employees as necessary. Understand and implement change control and inventory management as necessary Investigate sources of non-conforming materials. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering and Technology Knowledge of practical application of engineering principles, techniques, and procedures to tool design, cold forming operations and automation processing Knowledge of design techniques (GD&T), tools, and principles involved in developing precise technical plans, models, drawings and blueprints Knowledge of SAP (or other ERP system) Knowledge of advanced mathematics and applications Knowledge of CAD software including CATIA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Smart Sheet, and SAP preferred Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S and Six Sigma training tools Knowledge of quality control and testing procedures Knowledge of secondary processes Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to effectively communicate with personnel at all levels of the organization Ability to work well under deadlines and with a cross-functional team to accomplish results Ability to provide superior service and maintain a positive attitude with colleagues Ability to adhere to high standards of quality while performing at a high level Education, Certification/License & Work Experience
B.S. Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered Wondering if you should apply?
