Position Summary Under the general direction of the Fate & Metabolism Lab Leader, the Drinking Water Laboratory Technician supports the development and testing of new agricultural products and new uses for existing products. The technician performs laboratory work and data generation to support product registration and commercialization.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in planning, conducting, and reporting studies to support drinking water treatment product registration.
Perform laboratory testing and data collection as directed by study leads.
Operate laboratory instruments, including balances, centrifuges, gas chromatographs, HPLCs, mass spectrometers, and water treatment systems.
Partner with instrument owners and Lab Operations to maintain performance and minimize downtime.
Adhere to all Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and testing protocols to ensure a safe work environment.
Comply with EPA Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) Standards and other relevant regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate, detailed laboratory records in compliance with documentation standards.
Collaborate effectively with Regulatory Science team members and cross-functional groups, including Fate & Metabolism, Regulatory Analytical, and MSCOE.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required (Chemistry preferred); Master’s degree acceptable.
Minimum 2+ years of laboratory or analytical experience.
Hands‑on bench chemistry experience required.
Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and laboratory safety standards preferred.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field required; advanced degree preferred. Strong analytical laboratory background with experience in method development and instrumentation. Working knowledge of GLP, data integrity, and laboratory safety practices.
