Lunar Solar Array Technician Senior

Position Details
Shift: Mon–Thu (5 am – 3:30 pm)
Location: Space Coast, FL
Relocation: Available
Potential travel: Up to 20% for training and related activities
Key Responsibilities
Configure new production work areas with necessary tooling and equipment to ensure efficient workflow and minimize potential delays during transition to high‑rate manufacturing.
Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, etc.) and precision calibrated tools (torque wrenches, micrometers, etc.) to maintain high safety and quality standards.
Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for safety and efficiency, enhancing overall productivity.
Drive the transition from development to production, proactively performing troubleshooting and maintenance as needed.
Maintain clean and organized work areas following 5S principles.
Prepare and test systems and hardware by applying materials, conducting painting, sealing, composite lay‑up, repairs, testing, and assisting with vehicle assembly and installation.
Team Focus & Domain Expertise Team assignments will be determined based on experience and business needs. You may specialize in one or more of the following areas:
Production / Manufacturing Support – Provide tactical and technical support by setting up or improving manufacturing work areas and operations. Support design, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electro/mechanical systems and specialized test equipment.
Integration / Assembly & Test – Perform assembly, test, checkout, troubleshooting, and maintenance of flight and ground hardware. Work from schematics, diagrams, layouts, or defined plans. Use manufacturing, test, or diagnostic equipment including oscilloscopes, signal generators, and specialized test apparatus.
Electrical / Mechanical Systems – Hands‑on activities supporting cable and harness production, sensor installation, connector work, and cable routing. Participate in operational testing, system fault isolation, and assist in developing remediation or improvement methods.
Minimum Qualifications
Relevant Manufacturing & Avionics Technician experience: 8+ years
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
Experience with precision calibration tools (torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser tracker, optical measuring instruments).
Ability to lift 50 lbs and comfortable working at heights, and/or in confined spaces.
Expertise in adhesives, sealants, and thermal blankets.
Proficiency in digital tools, including Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work required shift and site, with flexibility for extended shifts/overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified in IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies.
Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field.
Experience with space flight hardware assembly.Ability to test/install sensors (accelerometers, thermocouples, pressure sensors, strain gauges, microphones, resistance temperature devices, cameras).
Bonding, sealing, part marking, connector rework, mate/demate of harnesses, cable routing.3D model experience.
Knowledge of precision assembly processes and handling large aerospace components.
Strong technical and leadership skills with keen attention to detail.
Effective communication and collaboration skills in varied teams.
Continuous improvement mindset and curiosity for optimizing processes.
Experience working on aerospace payloads, fairings, capsules.
Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.
