Maintenance Supervisor Shift:
6:00 PM – 6:00 AM Position Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring uptime and production throughput by implementing proven maintenance and reliability improvement processes. This role assists with complex equipment issues on the production floor and oversees the work of the maintenance team to maintain the plant at the highest levels of efficiency. The Maintenance Supervisor provides leadership, staff training and development, parts management, preventative/predictive maintenance systems, downtime tracking, and ensures safety and quality standards are met. This role works in conjunction with other plant managers and supervisors to enhance the overall quality, safety, and reliability of assets while maintaining regulatory compliance and promoting a positive customer service experience. This position may also require additional hours, including weekends, to meet business, customer, or production requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Support production operations by ensuring timely and efficient maintenance of all operations equipment within safety, quality, budgetary, and regulatory guidelines. Plan and implement operational and mechanical improvements. Assess, troubleshoot, and determine solutions to mechanical problems to support the productivity of Maintenance Technicians. Contribute to planning and evaluation of production changes; provide direction for installation and modification of equipment. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for the maintenance department in collaboration with management. Monitor and enforce all OSHA and company safety regulations; provide leadership for the Maintenance Department safety program. Provide technical instruction and training to Maintenance Technicians, machinists, mechanics, and operators to improve skills and equipment knowledge. Collaborate across operations departments to share knowledge and achieve objectives. Oversee maintenance staff and processes, ensuring technicians are properly deployed on the production floor. Perform or assist with skilled maintenance tasks as needed. Collaborate with production staff and management to resolve maintenance issues. Prepare and maintain employee records when applicable. Directly supervise technical/maintenance staff, providing day-to-day leadership, managing PM programs, projects, staff development, and administrative tasks (job assignments, vacations, performance evaluations, etc.). Monitor preventative maintenance and lubrication schedules to meet due dates. Interface with departmental managers to ensure plant equipment is maintained in functional and safe condition. Work with production personnel to improve production efficiency by suggesting machine improvements and maintenance procedures. Ensure maintenance work order software and facility equipment are maintained in safe and operational condition. Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors for scheduled work and purchased parts. Maintain documentation of key maintenance activities and provide technical guidance for problem-solving. Communicate company policies and enforce safety regulations. Job Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a maintenance role, preferably in food manufacturing. Minimum of 5 years of experience leading maintenance teams. Experience establishing maintenance policies and procedures. Knowledge of quality systems and regulatory requirements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate across multiple departments. Strong attention to detail. Demonstrated critical thinking and strategic problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, ERP software systems, and statistical software.
