About the Role
Virtual Speech Language Pathologist at STI in Chester, VA. This is a registry position for a facility in Chester. Pay rate is $48 per hour.
Shift Details
Full‑time coverage for upcoming maternity leave (Dec 4, 2025 – Mar 6, 2026).
If virtual, part‑time (3–4 days per week).
Part‑time/virtual appointments as needed.
Responsibilities
Identify students with speech‑language impairments.
Provide speech‑language services and collaborate with students, parents, and staff.
Conduct evaluations, prepare written evaluations, and submit to LEA and VDOE.
Work cooperatively with school staff and parents to determine recommendations.
Provide services in accordance with IEPs.
Maintain documentation for IEP, Medicaid billing, and reporting.
Attend required meetings (IEP, eligibility, triennial, etc.).
Report progress per student's IEP.
Serve on Child Study Committee when appropriate.
Manage caseload per county procedures.
Recommend service delivery options.
Comply with state and federal regulations and CCPS policies.
Attend in‑services and staff development; pursue professional development.
Maintain licensure and documentation of professional competence.
Supervise graduate students, clinical fellows, or SLPA per ASHA/BASLP guidelines.
Assess student learning and adapt instruction.
Use district curriculum to plan daily activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Master's degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited institution.
Current license in speech pathology issued by the Virginia Board of Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology (BASLP).
Knowledge of ethics, best practices, and special education policies at all levels.
Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans.
Strong communication, problem‑solving, conflict‑resolution, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers, parents, and administrators.
Additional Information
Reports (evaluations, progress reports, IEPs, etc.).
Utilizes personal computer and assistive technology.
High level of independent decision making.
Physical demands include sitting/standing, manual dexterity, light lifting up to 25 lbs, occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs; ability to move around school facilities.
Work environment in a public school setting; moderate to loud noise level.
