is delighted to host veterinary students for externships! This valuable clinical experience allows you to apply what you've learned in the classroom in a real animal hospital setting. Our externships are designed for veterinary students at AVMA-accredited veterinary schools in their clinical years, typically the 3rd or 4th year. We offer these programs at various partner hospitals and provide stipends to help offset travel and lodging costs, unless prohibited by your veterinary school. Eligibility requirements: Must be a current veterinary student at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school. Priority is given to students in their clinical years on official externship blocks for school credit. Must provide proof of professional liability insurance. SAVMA members can obtain free insurance through the AVMA. Hospital information: Species treated: Canine and Feline Services offered: General practice, surgeries, laser therapy, in-house bloodwork, radiology Full-time doctors: 3 Externship experience: Externs will participate in cases, surgeries, dental procedures, emergencies, and routine appointments under supervision. Opportunities to improve technical skills and engage in case discussions are encouraged. Externs are integrated into the team, participate actively, and can select cases for further research.
