Description The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and UVA Health Children’s seeks candidates for a faculty position on a clinician or clinician‑scientist track at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank to join our growing program. The appointee will join an outstanding group of clinicians, clinician‑scientists and staff dedicated to the wellness of children and with deep expertise in caring for those with cancer and blood disorders, including hematologic malignancies, sarcomas and embryonal tumors, central nervous system malignancies, non‑malignant disorders of a hematopoietic/immune/inflammatory nature, and similarly providing cutting‑edge cellular and immune therapies. You would join the highly collaborative environment of the University of Virginia, UVA Health and the #1 ranked children’s hospital in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding verbal and written communication skills, clinical excellence, curiosity, and interpersonal skills characterized by collegiality, humility and a service‑oriented mindset. Equally important, they will share our institutional values of accountability, stewardship, professionalism, integrity, respect and empathy.

Although not required, the ideal candidate will have direct experience in the design and conduct of investigator‑initiated clinical trials directed toward improving health outcomes for children with cancer and blood disorders. Experience working with scientific teams in a “lab‑to‑bedside‑to‑lab” workflow is highly desired, as is integration of our clinical enterprise with research opportunities. While this is a clinically focused position, there are diverse opportunities for clinical/translational research in partnership with our NCI‑designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Qualifications Candidates must have at least an MD or DO degree and be board‑certified/board‑eligible in Hematology‑Oncology.
