Open Rank- Clinical Faculty in Pediatrics-Neonatology Location: Augusta University, Augusta, GA. Full Time, Regular/Temporary: Full Time. The Department of Pediatrics, Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University in Augusta, Georgia is actively seeking candidates for a full-time, non-tenured faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor in the Division of Neonatology. The position will provide clinical care for the neonatal patient population in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit setting, including diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of disorders, consultations, acute care, ordering and interpreting lab results, developing treatment plans, and patient/family education. The position will maintain and ensure that relevant patient records are properly updated, and share weekday, weekend, and holiday emergent/after-hours call coverage. The Children\'s Hospital of Georgia provides comprehensive services with a 154-bed capacity and the region\'s only Level IV NICU. The Children\'s Hospital of Georgia is part of the Wellstar at the Medical College of Georgia campus network." Successful candidates will have a proven history of excellent clinical skills, involvement with clinical research, and a strong desire to be involved with resident teaching. Candidates should have an MD/DO and be board certified/eligible in Neonatology. Educational responsibilities include mentoring, clinical supervision, and consultation to residents/medical students/staff; developing in-depth educational experiences for trainees in neonatal medicine; and providing training through didactics.
Responsibilities
Patient Care/Service:
Become board certified in Neonatology by year three (3).
Provide high-quality, comprehensive care in Neonatology to improve quality, safety and patient experience.
Be clinically productive through clinical services at MCG\'s partner Academic Medical Center.
Participate in on-call duties with other faculty.
Meet all OPPE metrics (attendance at quality meetings, documentation, online training modules, faculty meetings, etc.).
Commit to 100% clinical FTE (90% to be dedicated to Neonatology services at the partner Academic Medical Center).
Meet and maintain wRVU productivity targets (65th percentile for neonatology per Vizient AAMC CPSC; subject to change).
Support departmental efforts in promoting professional relationships with MCG physicians and external physicians.
Provide prompt feedback to referring physicians.
Teaching/Instruction:
Provide education and training to residents, medical students and staff, including supervision, consultation and didactics.
Achieve and maintain teaching evaluation scores at or above the department mean.
Attend 50% or more weekly pediatric Grand Rounds presentations and monthly faculty meetings.
Required Qualifications Medical degree from an accredited medical school/university or equivalent. Board certified/board eligible in Neonatology. Must have or be eligible for a Georgia medical license, Federal DEA, PALS/CPR certification. Assistant Professor: Early level career with appropriate postgraduate training. Associate Professor: Mid level career with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or equivalent. Professor: Senior level with at least five years at rank of Associate Professor or equivalent. USG-wide qualifications include evidence of teaching ability, scholarly activity, and other duties as assigned; candidacy considerations apply for new entrants to academia.
Preferred Qualifications Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and people management skills.
Shift/Salary/Benefits Fiscal year based and year-round work. Full-time equivalent (FTE) is 1.0. Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements, subject to funds availability.
