opened in Janesville, MN in 1986. Since then, Summers Ridge has grown into a multi-species medical practice. In 2012, Summers Ridge moved into a new facility, expanding from 900 sq. ft. to 2300 sq. ft. This increase in space allowed for an expansion of services and products, including a secondary exam room and additional kennel space. We have also added state-of-the-art monitoring equipment for surgeries, new digital x-rays, blood work machines, and laser therapy. These advanced veterinary technologies enable our staff to focus more effectively on small animal medicine and surgery. Position Purpose:

Heartland Veterinary Partners' Externship Program provides 1st-4th year veterinary students with hands-on experience and mentorship to help them become 'practice ready' by their first day in practice. Externships typically last 2 weeks, and Heartland will cover lodging costs if needed. The length of the externship is flexible, and we can support your preceptorship documentation as well. Requirements/Qualifications:
Eligibility Must be currently enrolled in an AVMA-accredited veterinary school. Must be able to provide student PLIT.
