Laboratory Technician

Essential Functions & Requirements
Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times.
Performs sample identification and preliminary screening of all incoming waste samples.
Conducts fingerprint and wet chemistry analysis.
Prepares waste and water samples for organic and inorganic analysis.
Inventorizes reagents, standards, gases, and glassware.
Prepares standard solutions for quantitative analysis.
Operates and maintains laboratory instrumentation according to established guidelines.
Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization.
Education
Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related field, or experience in an environmental/industrial laboratory (required).
Experience
Previous experience with laboratory instrumentation (preferred).
Previous experience with EPA SW-846 and ASTM methodology (preferred).
Competencies
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.
Strong laboratory safety and housekeeping skills.
Ability/flexibility to work shift schedules including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Regular and predictable attendance to perform the functions and requirements of this role.
